I never played the first game. But Chris has been playing the new one and has been very impressed. He said it's very ambitious. I've heard other people talking about it, and they've said it's emotionally wrenching, in good and bad ways. I'm curious, but I've got enough games I'm not playing.
I remember Ultimate Warrior! 
I always thought this game was cool when I was a kid, but I never owned it, only rented it. Of course, I didn't get very far. It's pretty high concept for a NES game, and I'm not surprised by its more frustrating elements... that was kind of par for the course in the NES days. I wouldn't mind playing the modern sequel though.
I've never been that crazy about it except for a brief stint when I was like nine or ten. But I really like this game.

Carl Sagan was great. I had a copy of Cosmos when I was a kid, and I was absolutely in love with that book.
Actually, this sounds really cool. I would totally love to play this. Plus I like trains.
This sounds like a good direction for the franchise... you can only do so much in a subterranean train system. Plus, I always loved the atmosphere from this games, from what little I've played.
I'm not into wrestling, and this is probably the only wrestling game I ever enjoyed. Probably for its cartoonish brutality, which I enjoyed as a young boy, but can't really stomach now.
That book title is kind of inflammatory. Although, I was kind of enslaved by my NES. :)
There's an underground area where you fight these giant salamanders that really creeped me out. And there's another level where there are basically mindflayers.
